Welcome to BIMnet - the UK's leading BIM networking organisation for the building industry.

Who are we?

BIMnet brings together key players in the market, facilitating learning through our speakers and helping individuals and companies generate mutual opportunities. BIM is changing the landscape of the construction industry at an ever increasing rate, its adoption involves change with inherently different ways of working and conceptualising of projects by all those involved in the process. We are ever more seeing BIM being used across all phases of a project: from conception, the production of the design and management of construction information, through to end-user facilities management and operation. As adoption has increased, so has the perceived scope of what can be achieved in what sometimes is a confusing environment; BIMnet was conceived to track direction, tools, legislation and most importantly real world achievements.

BIMnet is hosting a series of events that will focus on topics which aim to bring together thoughts and requirements that look past the mandate and will try to focus on real word BIM implementation, lessons learnt and examples where real benefit has been achieved.

Why attend?

2016 saw the arrival of the Government BIM Mandate... So, what does that mean!? What have we achieved? How far have we gone? All this before we get excited or possibly scared about BIM Level 3!... what have we achieved with respect to delivering BIM Level 2? Early adopters are using new software tools and PAS control documents to produce ever more collaborated models with ever increasing Levels of Detail and Information in accordance with Employers Information Requirements. What is the reality of this step change currently happening around us? How are the changes to our workflows and outputs impacting our AEC industry? Is BIM delivering the time and cost savings? Are we reducing carbon and are assets delivering better for end users? BIMnet hopes to explore and challenge progress, support Design, Build, Construct and Operate professionals by providing a series of sessions designed to inform and allow insights into real world BIM implementation on real world projects.

Who should attend?

BIMnet is aimed at Architects, Engineers, Project and Information Managers, Civil and Structural Engineers, Contractors, Manufacturers, Company Directors, End Users, Facilities Managers, and anyone interested in BIM, its impact and issues within the construction arena.

"The UK industry has made great strides forward with BIM Level 2

this way of working must now be embedded into the majority of projects across the country. In parallel to this, we must continue to look to the future and build on the position that the UK finds itself in as a world leader in digital construction."
